REVIEW: Cybersecurity and Cyberwar: What Everyone Needs to Know

Broken down into easy-to-understand stories and language, cyber security is explained in a way that is relevant to everyone.  Though published in 2014, the message that cyber security affects everyone is still relevant today and maybe even more so given the recent attacks in the headlines from Solar Winds to the Colonial Pipeline Ransomware attack.

With an easy-to-follow and interesting background on the history of the internet, the reader is engaged from the beginning. Following that is a basic understanding of “Why it Matters”.  Stories about the dark web, the impact on our personal lives, and our national security are all great reasons for why it matters.

Once we have an understanding of the “what” and the “why” the following section provides the “how” in telling us “What we can do”. Although cyber security is a dynamic environment, the same principles apply today. We must learn from the past, protect what is of most value, and prepare for the inevitable in a way that mitigates damage.

Written in an easy-to-understand, non-techie way, this is perfect for anyone who wants to know more about cyber security, even those who work in the field.
