If we have learned anything from the recent Microsoft Exchange Server hack, it is that software updates MUST be continually done to keep your computer systems, applications, and software safe.
Why is keeping up with regular software updates (patching) a challenge? Why would you procrastinate?
Well, it’s because prevention is less urgent than response. And when you have a lot to do, the less urgent matters get pushed to the bottom of the list.
However, taking a few minutes once a week to check for updates can save hours, even days, and likely a significant amount of money. So get in the habit of checking for updates. Start Today!
To check for updates on your PC, go to <Settings>, click on <Update & Security>. Select the update and let it run. You may need to restart your computer once the update is downloaded.
Usually, it will only take a few minutes to update (unless it is a significant update). But whatever amount of time it takes is much shorter than cleaning up a hack or ransomware. And cheaper!
