Most of us these days rely more on our mobile devices than on our computers. And most mobile devices hold just as much sensitive information. Take steps to protect your mobile device.
- Keep your device locked when you aren’t using it
- Always use the access protection on your device whether it is a PIN, a password or a biometric (fingerprint, face recognition)
- Only install apps that are from trusted sources such as Apple Store or Google Play
- Install updates as soon as they are available
- Do NOT click on links in unsolicited emails or text messages
- Do NOT send or store personal information on your device
- Use data encryption if available on your device
- Set up Find my iPhone or Android Device Manager so if your device is lost or stolen you can locate it
- Back up your device to the cloud so you do not lose information if the device is lost, stolen or breaks
