Cyber Security in Recruitment: Tips to Protect Job Seekers and Employers
Yes, cyber security in recruitment is a genuine concern! Millions of people are currently searching for a new job, and employers are having difficulty finding the right people.
Whether it’s a complete career change or a new position in the same area of expertise, it’s estimated that a significant portion of the global workforce is actively seeking new opportunities at any given time. This includes those unemployed, underemployed, or looking to change fields entirely.
Job seekers and recruiters are prime targets for cyber criminals. For hiring teams, the valuable personal and organizational data under their care makes them attractive targets. For people searching for new employment, eagerness can lead them to submit their private information to potential companies. Suppose a bad actor posing as a hiring committee takes it so far as to conduct fake interviews and even offer you a nonexistent role. In that case, they can request highly personal information like your financials and Social Security Number!
Whether you’re looking for a new job or looking for a new candidate, everyone needs to know how threat actors are impacting both sides of the job market. Here’s how both parties can stay safe during their employment search and recruitment processes!

Cyber Safe Focus: The Great ChatGPT Experiment or Outdated Technology… How to Safely Dispose of it!

Recently, there has been significant media coverage about AI, particularly ChatGPT. Much of what is being reported sounds like science fiction, leaving many people with numerous questions.
Are the stories accurate? Does it require special equipment? Is it expensive? Does it require any specific skills?
Yes, it is accurate.
All you need is a computer and an internet connection. The faster both are, the quicker your results.
Anyone can get a ChatGPT account for free. Many AIs are free, but they often limit the number of queries (interactions) per month, and you need to pay for additional queries.
Does it require any special skills? The answer is a little more complicated, but the short answer is no special skills. The more you practice, the better you will get at phrasing more effectively.
How about a real-life ChatGPT example?

On February 5, the Cyber Threat Alert Level was evaluated and is remaining at Blue (Guarded) due to vulnerabilities in SimpleHelp and Google products. On January 30, the MS-ISAC released an advisory for multiple vulnerabilities in SimepleHelp RMM, the most severe of which could allow for arbitrary code execution.

Ransomware Insurance: Rising Premiums, Uncertain Returns, and Alternative Strategies
You probably think of ransomware insurance as a safeguard against ransomware attacks and data loss – and it is, to a certain extent. But what if we told you cyber or ransomware insurance may not end up covering against financial losses you experience due to ransomware? Or that ransomware insurance is actually making the scourge of ransomware worse?
If those statements sound surprising, keep reading for details on why cyber insurance not only fails to offer the protections that companies often think they’re obtaining when they purchase cybersecurity policies, but also how it makes the overall problem of ransomware worse than it needs to be.

Kentucky has launched a new tool to prevent residents from falling victim to payment scams.
The Administrative Office of the Courts rolled out a website to help alert people to the types of scams being used.
You can access the website here.
They are warning residents about ones that lie about fake arrest warrants or missed jury service to get money and personal information.
Officials say older residents are the most at-risk.
