If we have learned anything from the recent Microsoft Exchange Server hack, it is that you MUST continually update your computer systems, applications, and software on a regular basis.
Why is doing regular patching a challenge? Why would you procrastinate?
Well, it’s because prevention is less urgent than response. And when you have a lot to do, the less urgent matters get pushed to the bottom of the list.
However, taking a few minutes once a week to check for updates can save hours, even days, and very likely a LOT of money! So get in the habit of checking for updates. Start Today!
To check for updates on your PC, go to <Settings>, click on <Update & Security>. Select the update and let it run. You may need to restart your computer once the update is downloaded.
Usually, it will only take a few minutes to update (unless it is a major update). But whatever amount of time it takes is much shorter than cleaning up a hack or ransomware. And definitely cheaper!
